Aisha Buhari, the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has come out to accuse Mamman Daura of constantly acting without the president’s directives. Reports claim that this feud between Aisha Buhari and the president’s uncle, Mamman Daura, has been going on silently behind the walls of Aso Rock.
In a statement sent out to a news correspondent this morning, the First Lady alleged that the order to scrap the office of the first lady was issued by Mamman Daura, through a presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, without the president’s permission.
In the statement, the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria acknowledged that Nigeria’s development is anchored on the ability of public officials to execute their mandates in a professional way, and to be stellar examples in their various areas of specialization. She also accused Mamman of meddling in her family affairs and of placing his allegiance elsewhere, working with the opposition to undermine the president’s efforts.
She further accused Mamman of goading Garba Shehu, to appear on national television and insist that the media team attached to her office be sacked, an action which led to an eventual suspension of her media team members. She revealed how these series of attack denied her a running budget to fund her humanitarian programmes.
The first lady also claimed that Mamman has on countless occasions embarrassed the family, and even sponsored defamatory campaigns against her and her children. She finally confirmed that the Mamman’s dishonest antics and impunity will no longer be tolerated
Mamman Daura is the president’s age-long inspiration and confidant. And he is yet to react to any of these accusations contained in this statement.
