Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has tested positive for coronavirus, the football club has said.
As a result, the full first-team squad and coaching staff will now self-isolate.
The club said in a statement it was ‘clear we will not be able to play some fixtures on their currently scheduled dates’.
Arteta, who moved to manage the Gunners from Manchester City, was said to be ‘disappointed but in good spirits’.
The Spaniard himself said he took a test after felling ‘poorly’ and vowed to be back at work as soon as possible.
The club’s training centre has also been closed.
