Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate was in Rivers State yesterday, February 22nd 2023 to meet with major stakeholders ahead of Saturday’s presidential election. Unfortunately, he had to leave without meeting anybody in the state.
If you are reading this, chances are, you are wondering why he left like that. Well, this post has the details.
According to Olumati Isaiah who is the Labour Party candidate for Phalga constituency 1, Rivers State, Gov Nyesom Wike frustrated Peter Obi out of Rivers State yesterday.
In his words, “it is not a Rumour.
Today, I was asked if I could Join to move with Peter Obi to visit specific places in Rivers State and I was also requested to suggest some places too.
Peter Obi came to Port Harcourt and Governor Wike was not pleased since his intrest is with BAT.
First he (Wike) sighted insecurity in Rivers State as a reason Peter Obi shoukd not move around. “Peter Obi responded, Nigeria is generally unsafe, I will carry on”
The next call that came in was direct, Peter Obi’s security clearance had been withdrawn. This last straw made Peter Obi go back to Lagos.
I am glad he left.
I know this game.
If he had moved, they would have done what they did to Sentor Sekibo and Wike will brag about it in the news.
Wike will not catch cruise with my Principal, no, not now.
Again, it is not a rumor.
Wike frustrated Peter Obi out of Rivers State today.
After all is said and done, we will win.”
Also, for the past few days, there have been rumors that Gov Wike is supporting the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Though Gov Wike has not confirmed or debunked this Seymour, however, the word on the street is that Rivers PDP is voting for APC to win the presidential election because of the disagreement between Gov Wike and Atiku who is the PDP presidential candidate. Meanwhile, the presidential election is this Saturday and everyone with PVC is expected to vote.
