WHERE TO LOOK WHEN TROUBLE COMES – JFK Abiona

The direction of our eyes in times of trouble is directly proportional to the reality of the outcome of that tragedy. If you looked down, it means you have accepted your fate but if you looked up it’s a sign of victory.

David said ‘I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence comes my help’. Our eye balls are two but yet you can’t use one to look up and the other one to look down at a moment. The two eyes look the same direction.

If your eyes are single, your entire body will be full of light. We are in recession. The economy is bad. People are losing jobs. Many tenants can’t pay rents. COVID-19 and #ENDSARS leveled several businesses.

But there is a Goodnews “Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore. Psalm 125.

Please hear this: Facts are not faith. Economic realities are not final. God’s word is far more powerful than CNN and Wall Street realities. They looked up to God and their faces were not ashamed.

There is a weapon in your hand; please don’t carry it with a weak hand. There will always be trouble on earth but those who look up to God can not sink. Even when the whole israel sank into captivity, Daniel and three of his prayer partners distinguished themselves.

Friend, it’s not what happened to you that counts, it’s the direction of your eyes thereafter that counts. Look up to God and look down the devil. Let God be true and others be a liar.

Imagine what 2nd chronicles:16:9 says “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him”. Look up to God and not your pockets. Look up to God and not your husband. Look up to God and not the government. Look up to God and not on your children.

Remember God is a jealous God. The man you looked up to will surely fail because it’s not the devil that will frustrate him this time.. it’s God. God is on your case if you are like Jacob who alway plan, figure out, permutate and calculate his way out of his troubles. God had to dislocate his bone.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him. And he will direct your paths. When God finished dealing ruthlessly with Jacob the night preceding the attack of Esau.

HOW TO LOOK UP IN TIME OF TROUBLE:

1: HIDE:

You must learnt the art of being left alone. Until Jacob was left alone, God didn’t help him. You must first be broken if you want God to build you to confront your enemies and win. You must die if you want to live. You must hide for a season if you desire to shine in your season.

John was in the desert before he stormed israel with baptism of repentance. Jesus during his early ministry was whisked to Egypt and he also went to the wilderness before coming like a crack of thunder out of the blue sky to save the world.

2: SUBMIT TO YOUR INTRODUCER:

You must be introduced. You must pass through someone whose platform will be your launching pad. John did it for Jesus. Elijah did it for Elisha. Paul did it for Timothy. Don Jazzy did it for Korede Bello Dbang and others. There are some human beings until you stand on their platform, nobody will see you; no matter how gifted you are. Until you find them, your struggles continues.

3: LOVE GOD:

The harder you follow God, the higher you will rise. Serve God foolishly and he will make you wise before men. God can. God will. God is. God will always be. Don’t mind all the philosophers and all their PRINCIPLES. Be a good friend of the PRINCIPAL (GOD) and see how he will decorate your life with honour.
