GARDEN CITY SHORT FILMS EXHIBITION ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Garden City Short Films Exhibition has announced a call for entries. This was contained in a press release disseminated by Bobby Rak, the project director today, October 6th, 2022.

“This challenge is being put together to display short films made in different parts of the country with the aim of telling our stories by ourselves.
This year’s exhibition calls for entries into 3 different categories.

SKITS

We are calling for skit makers to send in their best skit.
The duration of each skit should not exceed 2 minutes.
The best 10 skits will be selected by our team and posted on our Instagram and Facebook handles.
We will then select the best 5 based on votes and judge’s decisions and these 5 skits will be shown at the main event where the audience will decide the winner.

MOBILE SHORT FILM CHALLENGE

We are also calling on budding film makers to send in short films made with mobile phones.
Each short film should not exceed 5 minutes.
Creativity, which is the theme of this year’s event is what we are looking out for.
Picture quality is not our priority in this category. However, each film should be made with good visuals and good audio so that our audience can follow the story.

The best 10 short films will be picked and uploaded on our Instagram and Facebook handles so that the audience can vote their best.
The best 5 short films will be shown at the main event where the audience will select the winner.

SHORT FILMS

This category is for film makers who are willing to screen their short film.
Short films should not exceed 15 minutes of total running time.
Entries made will be screened and the ones that make the cut will be viewed at the main event.

ELIGIBILITY
Film makers, skit makers and budding film makers from every part of Nigeria are permitted to make entries.

SUBMISSION

1. Send your entry by e-mail to submitgcsfe@gmail.com with your basic details, mobile phone numbers, e-mail address and social media handles

2. Send a ‘behind the scenes’ video of not more than 2 minutes showing how the film was made and the gears it was shot with. (This applies to the mobile short film category)

3. Follow our Instagram and Facebook handles.
Entries close on the 30th of October 2022
