Hilda Baci’s Mom Sold Mamaput To Pay Her Daughter‘s 600k School Fee

Linda Baci, the CEO of Calabar Pot, one of the best Efik and Ibibio restaurants in Abuja, has spoken about how she was left to raise her children alone and how she sacrificed everything to send her daughter, Hilda, to a good school.

Linda said that she was selling mamaput, a traditional Nigerian food, to make ends meet. She said that she knew that Hilda was a special child and that she wanted to give her the best possible chance in life.

“I sold mamaput to send Hilda to the best school,” Linda said. “I knew that one day she would attempt to break records and address international media. I wanted to make sure that she had the education she needed to succeed.”

Linda said that she paid 600,000 naira for Hilda’s school fees. She said that she also cooked in the bush to serve over 500 customers because she didn’t have a place to cook aside from the canopy she used as a shop.

“It was hard work,” Linda said. “But I didn’t mind. I knew that it was all for Hilda.”

Linda’s sacrifice paid off. Hilda recently completed a four-day cooking marathon to break the Guinness Book of World Records for cooking for 100 hours and 40 minutes.

“I am so proud of my daughter,” Linda said. “She has achieved so much, and I know that she will continue to do great things.”

Linda’s story is an inspiration to us all. It shows us that anything is possible if we are willing to work hard and sacrifice for our dreams.

Linda’s incredible story came to light during a press conference held in Lagos on Thursday, May 19, 2023. The event served as a platform for Linda to proudly share her daughter’s recent achievement—a record-breaking four-day cooking marathon.
