Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate, has emerged as the winner of the Enugu State elections, securing the highest votes in all 17 Local Government Areas. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer in Enugu State, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, announced the results, revealing that Obi polled 428,640 votes, followed by his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, Atiku Abubakar, who secured 15,749 votes. Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) came in third and fourth place, respectively, with 4772 and 1808 votes.
Out of the 2,112,793 registered voters in the state, only 46,891 votes were cast, with 12,467 votes rejected, and 456,424 votes deemed valid. The breakdown of the figures in each Local Government Area is as follows:
