THREE DIE IN TRUCK ACCIDENT ALONG LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY

FRSC, the Government Agency responsible for Road Safety Administration in Nigeria, Ogun State Command, has just confirmed an accident that happened along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Ota, Ogun State, involving a truck and a motorcycle. The accident left three persons dead and one with multiple injuries.

This accident around Toll-Gate on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway happened around 12:58 PM on Thursday, 19th December, 2019, and was caused by a brake failure on the part of the truck. The truck had then rammed into the motorcycle and the passengers that were alighting from the bike. One person died on the spot, while the other died after she was rushed to the General Hospital in Ota.

The sector commander of FRSC Ogun State, Oladele Clement, expressed sympathy for the family of the victims of this tragedy and hoped that the Lord will grant them the strength to bear the loss of their loved ones.

He further admonished motorists and other road users to focus while driving and to drive with care especially this festive season. He also noted that some of the accidents caused by non adherence to traffic rules can be avoided if road-users paid more attention to safety rules and regulations.
