Why Bank W Lost To Labour Party Candidate In Lagos – Solomon Buchi

Mr. Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party (LP) was yesterday declared the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, announced the results at the Collation Centre located at Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School in Marwa, Lekki 1 on Sunday.

Attah emerged victorious with 24,075 votes, defeating his opponents, Mr Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 18,666 votes, and Mr Babajide Obanikoro of the APC, who had 16, 901 votes.

Meanwhile, here I what Solomon Buchi has to say.:

“We love Banky W, but if we are going to be objective, his loss can be justified. I think that they all underrated the power of LP; they chose popular party over the disruptive party, which Peter Obi fostered. Now see, Nigerians are tired of the twin evil: APC and PDP.

There’s power in association too. Having his photo with Atiku’s on posters all over Lagos will repel the new political youth climate that are tired of APC and PDP. He should have moved to LP when PO moved.. By political interest, running under PDP means he endorses Atiku.

But maybe, he innocently thought that people will vote him over party. The Nigerian political narrative is changing. Peter Obi has spiked LP to the national stage, and every tired youth just votes for LP not minding who the candidate is.

Things are changing; things have changed. The gubernatorial election will be mad. Lagos state will most likely lose to LP. I’m proud of Peter Obi. Gosh. He is a catalyst. Even if he doesn’t win, 2027 elections won’t be a joke. The shackles of APC and PDP are breaking.

I made my research about the LP guy, Thaddeus, who won the Eti Osa constituency where Banky lost, and he has been doing good works too. He seems competent. There are many lessons to learn. It’s humbling. Very humbling.:
