Why Mercy Chinwo Unfollowed Eezee Tee And Chidinma Ekile On Instagram

Mercy Chinwo Blessed popularly known as Mercy Chinwo and her former label boss, Onyedikachukwu Thankgod Ezekiel have been in a cold war for some time now.

If you noticed during Mercy Chinwo’s wedding, Eezee Tee and the Eezee Conceptz team only showed up perhaps so the public will not notice that there are issues between them. Their presence was not felt, unlike Judikay and GUC’s wedding. Two months after the wedding, we are beginning to see subtle attacks on each other on Instagram and it’s becoming clearer that all is not well with Mercy Chinwo and Eezee Tee.

Mercy Chinwo signed a record deal with Eezee Conceptz in 2017,  a record label owned by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu Thankgod.

On February 20, 2018, Mercy released her debut studio album The Cross: My Gaze, a 16-track under EeZee Conceptz.

On September 5th, 2019, Eezee Tee gifted Mercy Chinwo a Lexus car as a birthday gift from the label. And between 2017 and 2022, Mercy Chinwo through Eezee Tee established has her brand as one of the biggest gospel artists in Africa topping charts and winning multiple awards including Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year, and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love) and Gospel Artiste of the year at the AFRIMMA Awards in 2020.

There were rumours after her wedding that she has left Eezee Tee and there are so many pointers to that. However, a check on their followers and following by Naira Diary revealed that they are no longer following each other. Also, Mercy Chinwo and Chidinma Ekile who is also an artist under Eezee Concepz are not on good terms too as they have also unfollowed each other on Instagram. At the moment, Mercy Chinwo has unfollowed Eezee Tee Conceptz, Thankgod Ezekiel ( Eeze Tee) and Chindinma. They are not also following her. See screenshots below.

Though we cannot tell what the problems are exactly, however, it has to do with the fact that Mercy Chinwo’s contract with Eezee Tee expired and they are not able to negotiate a good deal for a new contract. This happens every time in the music industry.

You are probably familiar with the Don Jazzy and Dbanj story. You have probably also heard about Kiss Daniel battles with his former label which lead to him changing his name. Even the P Square brothers have been fighting. However, as Christians that they are, we are hoping they settle and move on peacefully and not end up fighting like secular artists who always end their music business relationship in court after fighting dirty on social media.
