The Visual Conference, Akwa Ibom State’s foremost platform for photography and the visual arts, is set to return for its third edition this October with an expanded programme designed to celebrate creativity, visual storytelling and excellence.

The four-day programme will run from October 7 to 9, 2026, in Uyo, with guests arriving on Tuesday, October 7, followed by the conference proper on Wednesday, October 8. The programme will continue with a Photography Exhibition on Thursday, October 9, before culminating in the Visual Conference Photography Awards and Dinner that evening.

The awards and dinner will hold at The Glass Hall, Ibom Tropicana Event Arena, Uyo, bringing together photographers, creatives, industry professionals, sponsors and guests from across Nigeria.

Convened by Idara Adiakpan, The Visual Conference has, over its first two editions, established itself as a gathering point for photographers, creatives and storytellers, providing a platform to celebrate the power of photography while recognising outstanding talent in the visual arts.

The third edition is expected to be the biggest yet, featuring an expanded speaker line-up, a dedicated exhibition day, photography awards and an evening of dinner and networking.

Speakers scheduled to feature include Kelechi Amadi, Big H, Emmanuel Oyeleke, Esiaga, Bayo Omoboriowo, Amazing Klef, Image Faculty, Barr. Enwongo Cleopas, JB Afams and Ncourage.

The programme will provide opportunities for participants to engage with established photographers, creative voices and industry figures through conversations and insights around photography and the broader visual arts.

The event will close with the Visual Conference Photography Awards, which will recognise excellence and standout work within the photography community, followed by a dinner bringing together speakers, guests, sponsors and creatives.

According to the organisers, the event is being supported by media, hospitality and brand partners as part of efforts to further position Akwa Ibom State as a growing destination for creative and cultural events in Nigeria.

Speaking on the third edition, Convener Idara Adiakpan said:

“The vision gets clearer. Every edition of The Visual Conference has been about more than a night of awards; it is about giving photography and the visual arts in this region the platform they deserve. This 3rd edition is our biggest step yet.”
